It is basically a market research and product validation check done before launching a product. It can also be process identifying the everyday products that one can buy from a supplier and brand or sell it as its own product. For this, one should analyse the demand, competition, cost and demand of product. 
A typical product hunting can involve steps:

2. Selecting a niche
3. Validate demand and competition
